We are made for community , and called into a relationship with each other as the church.  For this reason, involvement in a Small Group is an essential part of our understanding of life in our church family.  Our goal as a church is to "grow smaller as we grow larger" so we can continue to develop meaningful relationships within the context of a large contemporary regional church.  It's in these groups that we intentionally care for each other.

There are a number of opportunities to connect in both informal and formal group settings. 

LifeGroups

Lifegroups are a constantly growing and changing which means that some groups may at times run out of space to fit everyone in the room! If you would like to be part of a group please make sure you contact the host or facilitator to discuss joining and to confirm the meeting details.

Please feel free to contact the Church and / or Matt and Bek Gilson if you would like help in finding a LifeGroup to join. They would love to give you a hand connecting in with other people from church.

Life Groups are an expression of that community in a small setting and form the foundations of Townsville Baptist Church. Each group is unique and shaped by the people who belong to it. All however, share the desire to build relationships defined by friendship, care and spiritual growth.

In LifeGroups, we grow together, learn together, celebrate together and support each other through Life!

Common Interest Groups

A number of our Small Groups connect around a common interest in activities like bike riding, prayer, fishing, craft, family outings, and Bible study to name a few.  You'll find more details of these groups throughout this website under the drop down menus.
