Check out our website at http://www.bcfctownsville.com About Our Club At BCFC we are a family friendly fishing club who meet together each month to talk fishing whilst having a good laugh. If you are are serious about your fishing or are just a beginner who wants to learn how to choose a rod, throw a castnet or rig your rod, then we are the place to be. Each month at the Fishing Club we do 3 things: Tackle Night - We hold a Tackle Night at 7.00pm on the 1st Thursday of each month in our club room in the hall at the Church (38 Canterbury Rd). We invite quality speakers from local Tackle Shops and experts in the Fishing field to speak on topics ranging from - How to Catch Barramundi, Fishing Estuaries, Targeting Specific Species (e.g. Fingermark, Mackerel), Land Based Hot Spots and much more. Monthly Fishing Competition: Following the Thursday night Tackle Night we have a fishing comp which runs from Friday morning through to Saturday at 5.00pm. You can fish wherever you like during this time, but if you would like to meet people and fish with others then we have a designated landbased spot each month that someone in our club will be at. Many members have boats, so as you get to know people in the club you might find yourself out fishing in a boat. Weigh-In and BBQ: On the Saturday at 5.00pm straight after the close of the fishing comp, we have a FREE BBQ at the Church for everyone in the club. This is where you bring the fish that you have caught during the comp to get weighed. We have monthly prizes for winners in each division (see divisions below), as well as random draw prizes for those who fished but didn't catch anything. Everyone comes to the FREE BBQ even if they didn't get out fishing, it's a great alcohol free social event. Who Can Come to BCFC?
Anyone can come to the Baptist Church Fishing Club. You don't have to be a Church member or even believe in God to be part of our fishing club. Many members invite their neighbours, work mates or family and everyone enjoys coming along.
Does it cost to come to the Fishing Club?
It doesn't cost anything to come to the fishing club, and we always welcome visitors. Membership is for those who wish to be part of the monthly prizes, the perpetual trophies and contibute and belong to the life of the club. Annual cost of membership is:
