Our focus is transformation. We long to see teens follow God as they follow Jesus through the process of discipleship. On a weekly basis we encourag teens to discover their God given abilities, challenge them to attempt new opportunities and celebrate victories. Our program operates during school terms and is for those in grades 7-12. There are three components to our youth program: 1. Friday nights 2. Sunday late afternoons and 3. Sunday evernings Church. The Friday nights are a highly organized social night where youth get to meet new people while having lots of fun. Sunday afternoons are gender divided Bible study groups. After the study most of the youth roll into evening church. At least once each term the Friday night youth go off the property for a social activity and once a year we head off to 'Easterfest' (March or April). Our annual youth camp at Magnetic Island "Realign" is normally on the 1st week of the June school holidays. Below are the time and location for each part of the youth program.

 

 

 

Friday at the Youth Centre 7pm-9pm     

Youth@TBC meets at Townsville Baptist Church at 38 Cantebury Road Kirwan in the Youth Centre. Activities include: The Youth band, challenging activities, relevant God talk, drama team, team sport, chill out time with food and time to catch up with new and old friends. The age of the youth group is 12-18 years and the cost is $3 per teen per night.

Sunday Youth LifeGroups 5-6:15pm

Youth LifeGroups are held at Townsville Baptist Church for those in grade 7-12. These are small groups of 12 where the spiritual formation of the youth is the main focus. Each group is led by our trained youth leaders who seek to partner with teens in furthering their understanding of God, the Bible and world views. In LifeGroups the God talk from Friday is further studied and discussed. The boys meet at the youth centre at 5pm where Pastor Christian waits with his leadership team to play a short game of soccer or football followed by a Bible study. The girls meet at the front foyer of the church where Ev, Pastor Christian's wife, leads them with her female only leadership team. 

 

Sunday Night Church 6:30-7:30pm

Most of the youth who attend the Sunday afternoon LifeGroups roll into the everning Church service to catch up with friends and participate in worship.
